Food Pantry

Food insecurity is a deep and growing concern – almost a quarter of college students are affected across the country, according to a national study. Many students must choose between educational expenses and food, and being hungry can leave students struggling to succeed academically.

The LCCC Foundation and Lehigh Carbon Community College are committed to addressing the issue in their own backyard. In 2017, the college and Foundation collaborated to create a food share program to address food concerns at LCCC. Then in 2018, through funding from the LCCC Foundation and the United Way and in partnership with Second Harvest Food bank, the college created the Cougar Cabinet Food Pantry, which provides students with the opportunity to receive food items once a week to supplement their food supply.
