Exemptions
Please review the exemption lists below for English, Math, Reading and Science to determine course readiness. Transcripts will be reviewed for placement testing exemptions for those students who have graduated high school within the past two years.
Reading Test Exemptions
- SATV – 480 or higher or
- ACT Reading – 20 or higher or
- 1st Quarter grade of B or higher in 12th grade English or AP Literature and grade of B or higher in 12th grade Social Studies or AP History or
- 2 College Courses (6 credits) of Humanities or Social Sciences with a B or higher
English Test Exemptions
Automatic placement into ENG 105:
- Final grade of B or higher in 12th grade English or AP English or
- ACT English – 21 or higher or
- SAT Verbal – 480 or higher
Math Test Exemptions
Automatic placement into Math 090 and 120:
- Any student (placement determined by Advisor based on major)
Automatic placement into Math 105, 118, 121:
- SATM – 500 or higher or
- ACT Math – 21 or higher or
- Keystone Algebra I: Advanced or
- High school Math class: Algebra I or higher with a grade of B or higher
Automatic placement into Math 125, 150:
- SATM – 650 or higher or
- ACT MAT – 29 or higher or
- High school Math class: Algebra II or higher with a grade of B or higher
Automatic placement into Math 125, 130, 150, 160:
- High school Math class: Algebra III/Trigonometry with a grade of B or higher
Automatic placement into Math 188:
- SATM – 650 or higher or
- ACT Math – 29 or higher or
- High school Math class: Calculus – Grade of C or higher or
- High school Math class: College Algebra or Algebra III with a grade of B or better
Automatic placement into Math 191:
- AP Calculus AB or BC – grade of C or higher or
- High school Math class: Calculus – grade of B or higher
